Suzie – Associate Counsellor. Specialising in Trauma Informed neuro-affirming therapy.

Hi, I’m Suzie!
I began my therapeutic training in 2010; qualifying as a counsellor in 2015. I went on to complete a MSC in Psychology at the university of Edinburgh in 2017 and have since completed training in psychological therapies for trauma and depression.
I’ve worked as a counsellor in voluntary organisations, including substance misuse services for adults, post sexual abuse services as well as a wellbeing service for young people aged 11-25. I have also been working for the NHS, providing psychological therapies for young people and their families for almost 10 years.
I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their ethical framework for counselling and Psychotherapy.
I currently offer integrative counselling for adults (aged 18+). Being an integrative counsellor means that I don’t use a specific therapeutic approach in my work. Instead I adapt my way of working and make use of different therapeutic models based on your unique needs.
I have a special interest in neurodiversity and provide a neuro-inclusive therapeutic space, whether you are curios about neurodiversity or have a diagnosis. I also work in a trauma-informed way; this means I consider how your mind and body might be responding to the things that have happened to you which impact the way you think, feel and behave now.
You might be feeling low in mood, anxious, stressed or might not know how you feel and need some support to understand yourself. You might be managing a life transition, not feel heard or understood, communicating with others or simply needing time and space to understand yourself- these are some of the areas I often support individual with.
I offer a really relaxed therapeutic space, where we work together at a pace that suits you, to think about what has brought you to therapy.
When I’m not working, you’ll most likely find me at the beach – usually in or on the ocean! I enjoy sea swimming and am interested in the benefits that it can have for both the mind and body.
I offer face to face appointments in Plymouth on Saturdays. Prices from £60
