Jane – Associate Counsellor Specialising in Children Young People and SEN (11-25)

Hi I’m Jane, my commitment to neuro-inclusive and gender-affirming practice is both professional and personal. As a dyslexic therapist, I have firsthand experience of navigating an education system and a professional world that often demands “masking.” This lived experience allows me to meet my clients with deep empathy and a genuine “insider” understanding of the challenges, frustrations, and unique strengths involved in having a neurodivergent brain.
Beyond my own neurodivergence, my personal life is enriched by family members within the LGBTQ+ community. This has deeply shaped my dedication to providing a safe, inclusive, and affirming space for young people of all identities. I do not work from a deficit model; I do not aim to ‘fix’ differences. Instead, I focus on helping young people identify their unique needs, foster self-acceptance, and build strategies to navigate a world that wasn’t always designed for them.
I am a Registered Member of the BACP with a BA (Hons) in Integrative Counselling. With over 15 years of experience in project management and community-led support, I bring a grounded, structured, and compassionate approach to my clinical work with children and young people.
I believe that every young person needs a safe “anchor” to explore their emotions. My practice is integrative, meaning I adapt my skills to meet the unique needs of the individual child or teenager. Whether navigating anxiety, school transitions, or emotional regulation, I provide a calm, creative space where young people feel truly heard.
